“Cut Straight to the Common Song” by Ben Michel

Ben Michel is a local Portland, Oregon based folk musician rooted in a deeply spiritual faith and reverence for traditional community songs. We recommend taking a listen to his “Cut Straight to the Common Song” track, taken from some of his “Field Recordings” demo sessions. The introduction to this song was originally part of a melody that Ben dedicated to my then infant son, Zephaniah Mendonca.

No wasted words, vague idioms

He is the co-founder and trustee of the Ark-T Centre, located in Cowley, Oxford. He is an ordained Anglican priest serving at the Ecumenical Church of Christ the Cornerstone, as well as a painter, writer, illustrator and graphic narrative author. He is married to his wife Marie and lives in Milton Keynes, England.
